About Me

Digital Reflections — at the intersection of data, AI, and imagination.

Welcome! I’m thrilled you’ve found your way here.

Digital Reflections is my digital sanctuary—writing at the intersection of data, AI, and imagination—where I share insights gained from my journey in Digital Ventures, Data, AI, and Business Transformation.

I’m a digital transformation leader with over 23 years of experience helping organizations navigate the shift from traditional business models to data-driven, AI-enabled operations.

My career has taken me through the full arc of enterprise technology evolution—from the early days of cloud adoption debates (yes, I was writing about OpenStack and hybrid cloud strategy back in 2013) to today’s frontier of agentic AI and human-machine teaming. Along the way, I’ve led digital ventures, built data strategies, and helped leadership teams make sense of emerging technologies.

Building isn’t a phase for me — but shipping has never been the finish line. Across more than two decades I’ve taken platforms from whiteboard to production, scaled them, and built and grown the businesses and high-performing teams around them: I design it, I ship it, and I own what it costs to run and whether it pays off. The weekend AI projects are that same instinct at personal scale — most recently a bilingual AI agent for my own family, running on local, open-source models on a homelab I tinker with. Getting my hands dirty is how I’ve always understood where a technology is really headed — and it’s what keeps the strategic view grounded in how things actually behave, not just how they demo.

Why This Blog Exists

I’ve always believed that meaningful reflection is the precursor to purposeful transformation. This space is where I process what I’m learning, share frameworks that have proven useful, and engage with others navigating similar challenges. Each post is crafted from real-world experiences, challenges I’ve faced, and lessons I’ve learned along the way. I believe in sharing both successes and failures—because true evolution comes from embracing both.

You won’t find hot takes or hype here. I’m more interested in durable principles—the strategic thinking that remains relevant even as specific technologies come and go.

What I Do Now

I lead technology where it’s the growth engine, not the back office — scaling transformation through the strategic application of Data, AI and emerging technologies. My bias is outcomes over optics: I’ve grown revenue and taken cost out of the same organisation in the same year, because I’ve never accepted that growth and cost discipline are a trade-off.

  • Strategy & growth: Deciding which digital and AI investments create durable competitive advantage, and turning them into revenue and margin, not just capability. I’m as comfortable arguing an investment case to a board as I am in an architecture review.
  • Execution & governance: Translating vision into production and scale, with the governance, risk and ROI accountability that keep AI in production rather than stuck in pilots.
  • People & leadership: Building and growing high-performing teams and cultures that keep adapting as technology accelerates, and owning the result rather than handing it off.

I’ve been the founder who had to make payroll and the executive accountable for a regional technology portfolio — and both change how you decide.
